Happy #FamcoreFriday! Today we sat down with Kyle, our new summer intern. Kyle is an
entrepreneur at heart, and we can’t wait to see what ideas he brings to the table over the next
Hello! Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your role here this
Hi! I’m Kyle and I’m working as a business intern this summer at Fōmcore. I’m going into my
senior year at Western Michigan University and studying marketing with a background in
management. Some of my interests include sports and spending time with my family. I have a
big family, and that’s shaped a lot of what I love to do now. Whenever we’re all together, we try
to get out and do things that get the adrenaline pumping: racing go karts, skydiving, things like
that. A big part of my life right now is riding motorcycles. 3 out of my 4 brothers have their own
bikes, too, so it’s been something fun that we can do together.
Since starting at Fōmcore, I’ve been a flexible shop worker, moving to different departments
based on the need. I’ve been filling in and assisting wherever need be, as well as checking in
and trying to help make improvements wherever possible. On the office side, right now I’m
observing and learning about the many moving parts of the administrative side of the business.
What are some of your goals for the future?
My interests in business revolve mainly around project management and development. Ideally I would like to work in these fields for a big company for some time, and my end career goal is to start my own business that involves my various interests and hobbies.
What is something that has surprised you so far about working at Fōmcore?
When I sat down with Scott, Chief Operations Officer, he talked about the importance of the
team here. I knew that this would be a part of the company, but it was mind blowing to see how much it comes into play in the day-to-day operations. If there’s a need, somebody is always there to fill in and help out. I've been playing sports my whole life, and it’s really cool to see how that same team-oriented mindset comes into play here.
One of my favorite things that I've done so far is having the opportunity to be involved in some
of the business meetings. I get to see the real, practical discussions about business operations
that you don’t learn about in school. That’s been really great to see and experience.
We’re so excited to have Kyle with us as an intern this summer, and we’re grateful for the
energetic work ethic that he has already brought to our team. Until next time, This Is Us,
